Once there was a small boy named Bayazid. His mother was ill. One night he was studying by the side of the bed of his mother. All on a sudden, his mother woke up, raised her head and told her son to give her a glass of water. Bayazid went to the kitchen to bring water but the pitcher was empty. He thought to fetch water from a distant fountain. He went alone to the fountain taking the pitcher with him and came back home with the pitcher full of water. In the meantime, his mother was fast asleep again. He did not want to disturb his ailing mother. So, he remained standing beside his mother’s bed. In the morning, Bayazid’s mother woke up. She became astonished to see her son standing with the glass full of water beside her bed. She embraced her son with deep love and prayed to Almighty Allah for her son. In his later life, Bayazid became a great saint.
অনুবাদঃ একসময় এক ছোট ছেলে ছিল, যার নাম ছিল বায়েজিদ। তার মা অসুস্থ ছিলেন। এক রাতে সে মায়ের বিছানার পাশে বসে পড়ছিল। হঠাৎ, তার মা জেগে উঠলেন, মাথা উঁচু করে ছেলেকে এক গ্লাস পানি এনে দিতে বললেন। বায়েজিদ পানির জন্য রান্নাঘরে গেল, কিন্তু দেখতে পেল যে কলসিটি খালি। সে সিদ্ধান্ত নিলো দূরের একটি ঝর্ণা থেকে পানি আনবে। কলসি হাতে সে একা ঝর্ণায় গেল এবং পানিপূর্ণ কলসি নিয়ে বাড়ি ফিরে এল। এদিকে, তার মা আবার গভীর ঘুমে তলিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। সে অসুস্থ মাকে বিরক্ত করতে চায়নি, তাই পুরো রাত মায়ের বিছানার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে অপেক্ষা করল। সকালে তার মা ঘুম থেকে জাগলেন এবং ছেলেকে পানির গ্লাস হাতে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে অবাক হলেন। তিনি গভীর ভালোবাসায় ছেলেকে বুকে জড়িয়ে ধরলেন এবং আল্লাহর কাছে তার ছেলের জন্য দোয়া করলেন। পরবর্তী জীবনে বায়েজিদ একজন মহাপুণ্যবান সাধু হয়েছিলেন।

Once there was a small boy named Bayazid who lived with his mother in a village (গ্রাম). His mother was very ill (অসুস্থ) and weak, so he took great care of her. One night, while he was studying (অধ্যয়ন করা) beside his mother’s bed (বিছানা), she suddenly woke up and asked for a glass (গ্লাস) of water (পানি). Without any delay, Bayazid went to the kitchen (রান্নাঘর), but he found the water pot (কলস) empty.
Without thinking twice, he took a pitcher (ঘট) and walked to a distant fountain (ঝর্ণা/পানির উৎস) to fetch (আনা) water. It was a dark and silent night (রাত), but Bayazid did not care about his own comfort (সুবিধা/আরাম). He patiently (ধৈর্যসহকারে) filled the pitcher and returned home. By the time he reached, his mother had fallen asleep (ঘুমিয়ে পড়া) again. He did not want to disturb (বিরক্ত করা) her rest, so he stood beside her bed (বিছানা), holding the glass (গ্লাস) of water in his hands.
The whole night passed, and Bayazid stood there silently, waiting for his mother to wake up. As the morning (সকাল) light entered the room (ঘর), his mother finally opened her eyes (চোখ). She was astonished (বিস্মিত/অবাক হওয়া) to see her son standing beside her with the water. Realizing his deep love (ভালোবাসা) and devotion (ভক্তি/নিষ্ঠা), she embraced (আলিঙ্গন করা) him with tears (অশ্রু) in her eyes and prayed to Allah (আল্লাহ) for his success and happiness (সুখ/সাফল্য).
