Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, OSP, BCGM, ndc, psc was born in Madaripur in 1960. His father late M. A Rashid was a teacher and his mother late Mrs. Fazilatunnesa was a housewife. He passed from Madaripur United Islamia Govt. High School obtaining first division with four letters in 1976.
He also passed from Madaripur Nazimuddin Govt. College obtaining first division in 1978. He joined Bangladesh Navy on 30 January 1979. He was graduated from Marshal Tito Naval Academy of former Yugoslavia. He was commissioned on 1st August 1981. He studied in ASW School at INS VENDURUTHY, India and completed his specialization course with distinction marks.
