Pre vocational (6,7,8) admission circular 2025: Pre-vocational skills serve as a basis for learning more advanced vocational skills and are sets of abilities necessary to enter any possible job sector. They entail cultivating core skills in obeying directions, finishing assignments on one’s own, and cooperating effectively with others.
These abilities are crucial for success in a variety of professions and are frequently regarded as the building blocks that more specialized professional skills can be constructed upon. Although both pre-vocational and vocational skills entail task-completion abilities, their specialization and complexity vary.

About Pre Vocational (6,7,8) Admission
The new circular has been published. In order to expand technical and vocational education and training, a decision has been taken to include a technical subject in every government technical school and college from 6th to 8th grade along with general education. After completing 8th grade, a student has the opportunity to enroll in vocational/technical education.
Those who do not continue their studies after this grade, have the opportunity to become known as skilled manpower by receiving a skill certificate for the relevant profession by undergoing training and under the National Skill Standards (BASIC/BNQF) for 360 hours. In addition, special arrangements have been made for those who want to pursue higher education.
Pre Vocational Admission Circular 2025
A project titled Establishing 1 Government Technical School and College (TSC) in each upazila under the Directorate of Technical Education is being implemented since 2014. Under the said project, student admission activities are being conducted in a total of 149 government technical schools and colleges in 6th, 7th and 8th grades from the 2022 academic year. In addition, this program will be gradually expanded to other independent and affiliated institutions including SSC (Vocational) institutions under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
In view of the need to create a new curriculum to implement this decision of the government, this lower secondary level curriculum under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, combining general education and technical education, was introduced in 2018 under the name ‘JSC (Vocational) Curriculum 2018’, which is coming into effect from the 2021 academic year.
Admission Procedure and Result
The admission process for 6th, 7th and 8th classes will be held through a lottery. The members of the admission committee will conduct the lottery in front of the parents present. Transparency should be ensured in the lottery process. In addition to preparing the list of students selected through lottery, a waiting list with an equal number of vacant seats should also be prepared.
If the selected students are not admitted on the date determined by the admission committee, admission arrangements should be made from the waiting list in order. Each educational institution will conduct the admission process under its own management. The admission process should be completed properly and transparently. The school authorities may form one or more subcommittees to conduct the admission process.
As per the decision of the admission committee, the heads of the institutions will publish the admission notices mentioning the number of vacant seats in their respective institutions. Apart from this, the admission committee will take measures for wide publicity by publishing notices in national/local newspapers/websites etc.
Reserved Quota for Pre Vocational Admission
- Five percent of the available seats will be set aside for the admission of sons and daughters of liberation fighters and martyred freedom fighters if there are no sons and daughters available.
- Two percent of seats are available for admission to children of teachers, officers, and staff members of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Directorate of Technical Education, Ministry of Education, and their respective educational institutions.
- Subject to minimal requirements, a 2% quota will be set aside for admission in order to integrate kids with special needs into the regular school system. But in this instance, proof will need to be provided in the form of a certificate from the relevant body.
- Girls will receive 20% of the quota, while tiny ethnic groups would receive 2%.
- Students who live in the catchment region next to the institution will receive a 40% quota.
