History Of National Audubon Day:
Much is known about the history of Audubon Day. Audubon did extensive research on American birds and habitats. He was born in Saint-Domingue. Audubon’s father and stepmother raised him in France. Later, after moving to America, he studied and developed a great interest in birds.
He was so interested in birds that he would continue to work on those pictures even while shopping with his wife Lucy. He once lost his Deccanpatt and became bankrupt and began a deep search for bird paintings. Intrigued, he traveled up the Mississippi River on a flat board to sample new birds. But he achieved complete success in his work and took his work to England and published it there.
A few years after Audubon’s death on January 27, 1851, one of his wife’s students, George Byrd Grinnell, went on to co-found the National Audubon Society in John Audubon’s memory. Our society promotes and protects the habitats that support all of the world’s birds and sponsors National Audubon Day.
