Thomas has been associated with many clubs and competitions since a very early age. He did his bachelor’s in electrical engineering and masters in Mechanical engineering. He participated in many competitions and won them. He did his thesis for bachelor in Design of a three-degree of Freedom force-reflecting haptic interface and his master’s thesis was titled Initial haptic explorations with the phantom: virtual touch through point interaction in 1996.
While doing his bachelor he started a company in 1993 named SensAble Devices Inc. along with his wife.
It was 2010 when Massie fought election for lewis county Judge-Executive from Kentucky and won the election. He defeated his Democratic opponent by 40 points.
