On July 11, 1981, Purnima was born in Chittagong. Sufia Begum and Muhammad Hanif are her parents.She has a sister, Dilruba Hanif. She is also an actress. She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film ‘Ora Aam Bhal Hete Dilo Na’ (2010). Purnima made her web-film debut in 2021 with Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s ‘Munsiyari’, where she acted opposite Chanchal Chowdhury.
