Gordon Lightfoot was born on November 17, 1938 in Orillia, Ontario, Canada to Gordon Sr. and Jessie. The sister was named Beverly. Lightfoot showed early musical talent, and in the fourth grade, had his first public performance when he sang the Irish lullaby “Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra” over his school’s public address system.
