Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the world was taken by surprise and the HSC examination in Bangladesh kept getting postponed. However, the final decision on the HSC result new system has finally been taken. The Education Ministry has just released a notice reinstating current measures to assess students’ adequacy in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) this year. This is a new event for Bangladesh.
HSC Result 2024 Date
This time, 13 lakh 65 thousand 69 candidates were supposed to participate in the HSC-equivalent examination. However, since the government canceled the examination, the probable date for the result of HSC 2024 is at the beginning of 30 January 2024. Since the result will be given based on the JSC and SSC results, there will be a 100% passing rate this time.

In the shadow of the current Covid-19 pandemic, the government has finally decided not to conduct Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) and as well as the examinations on an equal level. The final decision has been taken through discussions with the concerned, said the Minister of Education, Dipu Moni. She said that the HSC candidates will be evaluated based on the results of SSC and JSC examinations.
The Education Minister Dipu Moni stated this in an online briefing to the media about the HSC exam on Wednesday afternoon. This decision has been taken solely based on the risk the exam process could have imposed, as she added that, “The way the tests are conducted in our country, there is a possibility of coronavirus infection among the students as well as those involved in conducting the test. Considering the current situation, it has been decided to evaluate the students differently.”
For further explanation, the Education Minister mentioned that before HSC, all the candidates had to go through JSC and SSC, these two public examinations. So they decided to make HSC results 2024 based on the results of these two tests. They have taken this decision keeping in mind that the method of assessment of HSC and equivalent candidates should be internationally recognized. The education minister said the final results would be announced in January.

How to Calculate HSC Result?
The best way to calculate HSC results is to go to an online calculator and provide the grade points achieved in each of the subjects. After you input all the necessary information you need to click “Calculate” and the site will calculate the GPA for you.
Recently, Education Minister Dipu Moni has talked about the HSC and equivalent exam result. She has said at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, November 25 that the result of HSC and equivalent exam 2024 will be published by giving priority to the SSC and equivalent exam result. The result will be calculated based on 75% of the SSC and equivalent result and 25% of the JSC exam result. All the students are going to get the result within December 2024.
She also added that the students took part in the SSC exams with some seriousness. It is also close to HSC. So it is a great way to emphasize the results of SSC and equivalents. For the students of open universities and technical colleges, only the result of SSC will be given priority to their results as they do not take part in JSC exams.

If you want to calculate your GPA manually, here are the steps you need to follow:
- First of all determine your grade based on your marks according to the assessment chart given by the government
- Then you need to add all of the grade points and find the summation
- Then divide summation of the grade points with the number of subjects you have, in this case, 6. The 4th subject is not considered in this step
- The division will give you a number, that number is your GPA
However, since in the HSC result new system the government has decided to average the result of JSC and SSC, you have to calculate the average first before starting the first step.
If you do not want to calculate it manually, then you can get to know your GPA simply by going to the Education Board site – www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, and inputting the exam name, board name, roll, and registration number there on the result day.
