No One will be Denied HSC Admission for Seat Shortage. About 9.60 lakh students were placed on the merit list for enrollment at colleges and madrashas on higher secondary and equivalent courses published on June 16, 2024.
About 3.5 lakh of the 13.11 lakh admission seekers, who had collected and submitted forms, were placed on the waiting list, said officials supervising online admission system.

Huge rush of admission seekers were found for getting place at reputed colleges in the capital as the number of applicants for those colleges was 15 to 20 times the existing seats, said officials engaged in admission process.
They said that none had applied for enrolling at 48 educational institutions- 36 ere technical institutions, 10 madrshas and 2 colleges. Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid launched the merit list by looking up one student’s result on the list at a briefing at his office.
The list is available on the official website: (www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd) and students would get it through short message service. College admission would take place in June 18-22. Those on the waiting list will be able to get admission in June 25-27. Classes will start on July 10, 2024.
Officials said that aspirants desperately looked for their place in renowned institutions in Dhaka. About 32,000 students applied for 3,350 seats at Dhaka City College HSC Admission, 18,730 for 855 seats at Dhaka Residential Model College, 28,280 for 1,640 seats at Rajuk Uttara Model College HSC Admission, 23,870 for 1,530 seats at BAF Shaheen College at Tejgaon, 17,250 for 930 seats at Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College, 11,000 for 2,020 seats at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, 8,300 for 1,400 seats at Ideal School and College, Motijheel, 8,000 for 1,150 seats at Dhaka College, 6,060 for 300 seats at Government Laboratory High School and 4,800 applied for 250 seats at Motijheel Government Boys High School.
“Everyone might not get to go to their preferred colleges, but no one will be denied admission due to lack of seats”, said Nurul Islam Nahid at the press conference. There are 21 lakh seats at the 9,085 colleges, madrashas and technical institutions of the country and 13.11 lakh students applied for these seats, he added.
