Hat aims at improving the standard of European education and fostering communication between the people and the culture of Europe. They want to get purpose fulfilled through the interaction with the third countries or the states that are not European Union’s part.

Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Bangladesh
Awarding scholarships to EU country students as well as non-EU students is one of the various activities of Erasmus Mundus. It used to enable thousands of students to attend a Masters or Doctorate program at one of the joint programs of Erasmus Mundus. But recently they have included a Bachelor program to the list as well.
The two categories of the scholarship are named as Action 1 and Action 2. In higher education, students can receive a scholarship for master’s studies as well as bachelor studies. Candidates of Doctorate can have fellowship for doctoral studies as well as for Post Doctoral studies.
This is a very attractive scholarship for students of Bangladesh along with the students of all around the world. And the desire is attainable. Even in 2024, 77 students of Bangladesh were lucky enough to the receiver of the scholarship.

What is offered in the Scholarship?
The Erasmus Program offers full-time fellowship and scholarships, which include tuition fees, living costs, insurance, and travelling costs of the students. The compensation varies as per the different levels of study, duration, and the nationality of the student. Comparing to EU students, the non-EU students get a higher amount of the scholarship.
Under the Erasmus Mundus program, a wide range of various disciplines is covered. The list of the disciplines includes construction and manufacturing, veterinary and agriculture, engineering, science, business, computing and mathematics, welfare and health, law, and social sciences. More than programs for Masters are offered under each of the disciplines. But it should be mentioned that, at the Master level, students can apply for three different programs to a maximum.
Scholarship Amount: there is almost no such cost that Erasmus Mundus does not bear for a student. Though the amount of the scholarship can vary due to many factors, the amount is still very attractive. Typically, every Master degree awardee under Action1 receives an amount of 1000 euros every month. He also receives a Travel Allowance of 4000 Euros every year. The scholarship also covers Health Insurance Facilities, which is free for two years.
The students who hold Action 2 scholarship also receive an equal amount as of the Action 1 ones. The only difference is that validity is for 1 year.
Eligibility for Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
A non-EU student is eligible for the scholarship only if–
- The student is a non-European and Third country official.
- The Grade Average of his previous study proves the applicant’s high qualification. The requirement is usually the grade average of ‘B’ or above according to the grading scale of ECTS.
- The program requires the students to clear either TOEFL or IELTS exams. For TOEFL tests, the examinee needs to have a minimum score of 95 internet-based/ 250 computer-based/ 600 paper-based.
For the IELTS exams, the students must have a minimum score of overall 6.5 with 6 in writing.

How To Apply For Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
Most consortia require applications to be submitted between October and January, for courses starting the following academic year.
