The Galaxy A32 is the first Samsung phone with an AMOLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate. I had little reason to think that the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset within the phone would be able to handle the high refresh rate well when it was initially announced, and my opinion hasn’t changed after using the phone for a little over a week as my primary phone.
When the phone is actually able to push all those frames, the animations and scrolling are noticeably smoother. Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp were the only apps that the phone regularly handled the high refresh rate correctly. It performed well in Facebook, one of the least optimized Android apps available. You read that correctly.
The Settings app on the phone scrolled smoothly as well, although for some reason the notification shade was always set to 60Hz. The scrolling experience on even the most graphically complex websites was inconsistent on the Chrome and Samsung Internet apps: sometimes it was smooth, and other times it stuttered terribly.
The increased screen refresh rate is plainly beyond the capabilities of the MediaTek G80’s GPU, and the 90Hz display is more of a gimmick than a functional improvement. When it works, which regrettably doesn’t happen frequently, it’s lovely.

Conclusion
If the Galaxy A32 hadn’t had so many performance difficulties, it would have been simple to recommend it. The latest software, adaptable cameras, and excellent battery life are all great, but the experience is ruined by the phone’s poor day-to-day performance and inability to drive the high refresh rate display.
If a consumer is upgrading from a Galaxy A30 or Galaxy A31, they would be better off purchasing the Galaxy A51 from the previous year. It’s still a superior phone overall, even though it doesn’t feature a screen with a high refresh rate or a battery life as good as the A32.
