Mykolas Alekna (born 28 September 2002) is a Lithuanian athlete who specializes in the discus throw. At the age of 19, he won a silver medal at the 2024 World Championships, becoming the youngest world discus medalist in history.
Having a great wingspan – or longer than normal arms for someone his size – was advantageous for Virgilijas Alekana in the discus, and the same is true for Mykolas. Alekna was also the youngest winner in his discipline at the 2024 European Championships, setting a competition record in the process. Then in 2021, he was the World Under-20 and European U20 champion.
