Monika Chakma is a midfielder for the Bangladesh women’s national football team. Her nickname is Jadu Chakma. She played for Bashundhara Kings Women in the Bangladesh Women’s Football League in 2019, she scored a goal against Mongolia in the Bangmata Under-19 Women’s International Tournament. FIFA recognized her goal as a ‘magic goal’.
Early Life
Monika was born on September 15, 2003 in Sumantpara, Lakshmichari, Khagrachari district. She is the youngest among five daughters Bindu Kumar Chakma and Ravi Mala Chakma. Her elder sister is Anika Chakma. Given Monika’s quiet and calm demeanor, it is easy to see her hunger to become a top player. Education
After attending Rangamati Ghagra High School, Monika passed HSC from the Humanities Department of Ghagra College. Career
Monika participated in the first Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Football Tournament held at Marachengi Government Primary School in Lakshmichari in 2010. In 2012, Rangamati Magchari in Chittagong gave him admission in Rangamati Magchari Government Primary School. After returning home on Thursday, Monika went to her home village in Lakshichhari Upazila of Khagrachari on Friday. Soon after Monika arrived, the villagers gave her a warm welcome as there was a wave of joy in the Sumant Para area. Bangladesh women’s team became champion for the second time. At their house, their mother, Ravimala Chakma, and proud father, Bindu Kumar Chakma, provided them with sweets.
