In 2017, TerKeurst and her spouse contemplated divorce because of her husband’s extramarital affair and substance abuse problems. However, they chose to remain together and even reaffirmed their marriage vows in 2018. They would ultimately file for divorce in 2022, despite their best efforts to keep the marriage intact.
Court documents reveal that Art spent more than $100,000 on an “illicit sexual” extramarital affair with a woman he met online, as Christian Headlines previously reported. He responded to the divorce petition in February, asking for alimony, post-separation support, an equitable distribution of the couple’s assets, damages, and the cancellation of any post-nuptial agreement.
