  • Unit ‘A’ only for the students of science group
  • Unit ‘B’ only for the students of humanities group
  • Unit ‘C’ only for the students of commerce group
  • Unit ‘D’ for some selected departments (every group students can appear in admission tests)
  • Unit ‘Cha’ only for the students who wants to learn fine arts faculty

The Dhaka University (DU) admission test results for the academic session 2013-14 shows that 175,346 (81%) students failed to obtain the minimum passing marks out of 217,247 candidates in different units. The failure rate was 83% in the academic session 2012-13, and 81% in the academic session 2011-12.

Dhaka University (DU) admission tests have 40% passing marks out of 120-mark for the different units, as units ‘B’, units ‘C’ and units ‘D’ have minimum passing scores for different part of the questions. Such as- Bangla, English and general knowledge.

The failure rate for the session 2013-2014 shows that 95% candidates failed in unit ‘Cha’, 91% in unit ‘C’, 86% in unit ‘’B and around 91% in unit ‘D’. The number of failed students was relatively less in unit ‘A’ that the figure was 58%.

The failure of a large number of students in the Dhaka University (DU) admission tests of the country’s top educational institution reflected the “poor quality” of education handed down to students in school and college levels.

For the academic session 2013-14, 67,058 students who got GPA 5 in both SSC and HSC exams sat for admission tests in DU, but 56.12% of them failed to attain the passing marks.
